2024 - 2025 FAFSA Update
The 2024 - 2025 FAFSA is open! However, schools will not begin to receive FAFSA data files until March 2024. Therefore, award letters for the 2024 - 2025 school year will not be sent until late April 2024. Prepare to complete your FAFSA by having 2022 tax information available (tax returns and W2s, if applicable) and making sure you have your FSA ID handy. Your parent(s) will also need an FSA ID if you are a dependent student. Keep an eye on your student email for updates!
FAFSA Timeline:
December 2023 - FAFSA opens for submissions
March 2024 (tentative) - Schools will begin receiving FAFSA records; Students can begin submitting corrections, if needed. Schools may begin submitting corrections and completing verification files; Paper FAFSAs will begin to be processed. UIW will contact students regarding any documentation needed in order to clear up problems on their FAFSA.
Mid-late April 2024 - UIW will begin to send award letters to new students; Returning student awards will follow.
Please note: UIW does not award most aid on a "first-come, first-served" basis. You do not need to rush to complete the FAFSA, but you should still complete it as early as possible to allow the maximum amount of time for planning and budgeting. We recommend completing your FAFSA by April 1, 2024 for Fall 2024 aid.
Need help completing your FAFSA? Come in and see us, or schedule a virtual appointment! We must be able to see your screen in order to efficiently assist you and/or trouble-shoot any problems with completing your FAFSA.
